Frontier EU is committed to helping partners achieve their goals and to showcasing the impressive solutions built with Peplink’s innovative technologies. Through the Partner Highlight series, partners get the opportunity to share their story and expertise. In this fourth edition, Seafar takes the stage, a company that is redefining the future of maritime innovation.
En este caso se trata de SeaFar, una empresa que está redefiniendo el futuro de la innovación marítima.
The collaboration between Seafar, Frontier EU, and Peplink demonstrates how smart connectivity can reshape the maritime sector. Seafar, a Belgian pioneer in semi-autonomous and remote vessel operations, manages a rapidly growing fleet across Europe. All controlled from remote operations centers in Antwerp, Charleroi, Duisburg, and Dordrecht.
With the support of Frontier EU, Seafar relies on Peplink solutions to ensure continuous, secure, and high-performance connectivity between vessels and shore-based captains.
Operating semi-autonomous vessels requires uninterrupted communication. Any delay or disconnection can directly impact navigation, safety, or environmental performance. To overcome these challenges, Seafar implemented Peplink SpeedFusion architecture designed and supported by Frontier EU’s technical team.
Each vessel is equipped with:
At Seafar’s remote control centers, complementary Peplink hardware maintains stable connections, aggregates bandwidth, and enables automatic failover. The entire network is managed through InControl2, ensuring complete visibility and control over fleet connectivity.
The collaboration between Seafar and Frontier EU began over three years ago, when Seafar benchmarked multiple networking vendors. The combination of Peplink’s product range and Frontier EU’s deep expertise provided the ideal match.
Frontier EU continues to support Seafar through product training, technical guidance, and proactive consultancy. This partnership has allowed Seafar to scale its operations confidently, expanding from a single vessel to a fleet of over fifty, all connected through a unified Peplink network.
“We have built a really strong relationship with Frontier EU. Their expertise has been essential in helping us choose the right Peplink components and get the most out of them. They remain a constant in our growth journey, and I am proud to call Frontier a trusted partner.”
– Zia Nassir, Chief Technology & Operations Officer, Seafar
Together with Frontier EU, Seafar uses Peplink connectivity to achieve:
“Connectivity is critical to our solution and Frontier EU helps us stay at the forefront of technology, increasing both the safety and value of our operations.”
– Manolito Fernandez, QHSE Manager, Seafar
“The transition is very smooth and the system of Seafar is working very well. I think the biggest benefit would be that the crews onboard the ship right now can also work onshore, so they have more time with their families.”
– Twan Brummelkamp, Captain, Bosman Shipping Group
